As the price of gas increases, the overall cost of installing a solar system is decreasing because of incentives and cost of equipment.  During the first quarter of 2011, solar installations for homes across the United States rose 66% in comparison to the previous year.    One reason for this price drop is due to a decrease in the cost of solar equipment.  During the same time period in 2011, solar components dropped 15%, resulting in cheaper technology for homeowners and businesses.
